James "Jim" Bullington Dec 22, 1935 - Jul 12, 2019 James “Jim” Bullington, 83, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019 at Pine Haven Nursing Home in Evansville. He was born December 22, 1935 in Evansville, IN to the late Alma (Evans) and James D. Bullington. Jim worked for Clark Security for 23 years and Busler Enterprises for 8 years. He was a former member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Jim enjoyed participating in civil war reenactments and also enjoyed camping. He was a member of Riverbend and Moose Lodge 85. Jim is survived by brothers, Kenny (Sharon) Bullington, and Larry (Sally) Bullington; nieces and nephews; 3 stepchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Myrtle “JoAnn” Bullington, he was preceded in death by brothers Donny and Mike Bullington. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 18, 2019, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Ave., Evansville. About 450 fewer blood drives were organized by businesses and other community groups last week than during a typical week as people across the country celebrated the holiday with activities and travel. This led to about 17,000 fewer blood donations than needed for patients in a single week, causing the Red Cross to now have less than a three-day supply of most blood types available – and less than a two-day supply of type O blood – for patients. Paul Howard Condi, Sr. Birth: 05-30-1928 Death: 07-09-2019 Paul Howard Condi, Sr., 91, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Solarbron. Paul was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania on May 30, 1928 to the late Andrew Albert and Flora (Heckman) Condi. He honorably served in the United States Army in the South Pacific where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Paul was the founder of Condi Automotive Electric, retiring in 1993. He was formerly employed at Whirlpool Corporation as an industrial engineer and also owned Snow White Laundry and Dry Cleaning for 12 years. Paul was a faithful member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and more recently a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He was an accomplished tennis player, even playing in the Senior Olympics, and loved traveling. Paul was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Paul is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alice A. (Rathke) Condi; sons, Paul H. Condi Jr. (Cathy), Richard A. Condi (Donna), David W. Condi (Carla), all of Evansville, IN, Jason A. Condi (Jessica) of Iwakuni, Japan; daughter, Patricia A. Therese "Terry" M. (Collins) Herr Birth: 06-06-1930 Death: 06-23-2019 Therese M. "Terry" (Collins) Herr, 89, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019 at North River Health Campus. Therese was born in Morganfield, Kentucky on June 6, 1930 to the late Joseph and Ruth (Beaven) Collins. She was a 1948 graduate of Morganfield High School. Therese was a retiree of Sears Credit. She was a long standing member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Therese enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, and volunteering at Sunday church dinners. Henry David Faulkner, 77, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at his home. Dave was born in Memphis, Tennessee on October 20, 1941 to the late Oliver and Jessie (Legge) Faulkner. He honorably served in the United States Navy as a photographer and continued his passion for photography throughout his life, even developing pictures for Jacqueline Kennedy. Dave retired from Inland Container after 40 years of service. He was a longtime member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and currently a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Dave enjoyed cars, traveling the country, NASCAR, and horse racing. He was an avid Indiana University fan and was very proud that all of his grandchildren graduated from there. Dave is survived by his wife of 57 years, Paulette Sue (Brown) Faulkner of Evansville, IN; daughter, Wendy Anson (David) of Evansville, IN; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Faulkner of Evansville, IN; six half sisters; two half brothers; and grandchildren, Jared David Anson, Mallory Jo Anson, and Haley Lynn Anson. Dave was preceded in death by his son in 2016, Joseph David Faulkner; his parents; and two half brothers. Esther Rose (Becker) Dossett [Registered at Good Shepherd Catholic Parish 03/01/1998] Evansville - Esther Rose (Becker) Dossett, 91, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Heritage Center. Esther was born in Evansville, Indiana on April 4, 1928 to the late Adolph and Katherine (Eberhard) Becker. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic Grade School and a 1945 Memorial High School graduate. Esther married Dennis Dossett on February 4, 1950 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in the City. They met through the Evansville Outing Club, formerly known as the Hiking Club. She was shy and liked that he was so outgoing and had a sense of humor. Together Esther and Dennis were members of Germania Mannerchor for many years. Esther worked as a stenographer at Citizens Bank prior to having her six children in the first nine years of her marriage with Dennis. They were married for 56 years before he passed away in 2006. Esther was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was devoted to caring for her family and spoiling everyone she could. Esther enjoyed visits from family, reading, weekly trips to the library and freelance writing. She wrote a number of guest columns for the Evansville Courier and Press and had a standing article in the Maturity Journal for a number of years. Esther's columns were always about her family and family life. She wrote in the style of Erma Bombeck. Esther maintained touch with her Memorial High School girlfriends for many decades and enjoyed their monthly lunches. When she moved to assisted living, she missed cooking and even doing the dishes. After years of cooking three meals a day for eight people, that was a key part of each and every day. During her time in assisted living and then skilled nursing, all of her caregivers commented on how sweet she was, as well as her beautiful smile. She appreciated the care that was provided and was always patient and kind. Esther is survived by her children, Kenneth Dossett of Evansville, IN, Bruce Dossett (Joyce) of Crestwood, MO, Peter Dossett (Becky) of Evansville, IN, Sarah Bauer (James) of Lafayette, IN, Neal Dossett (Peggy) of Evansville, IN and Chris Dossett of Evansville, IN; brother, Paul Becker (Edna) of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Adam Bauer (Emily) of Zionsville, IN, Laura Tucker (Jacob) of Cynthiana, IN, Erin Bauer of Flora, IN and Jennifer Dossett of Evansville, IN; great-grandchildren, Jackson Tucker, Ella Bauer and Katelin Tucker; and by many nieces and nephews. Esther was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dennis Dossett in 2006; her parents; and by her sister, Betty Camp. Update: May 13, 2019: We are going to postpone Vacation Bible School until 2020. A major reason for this is getting started later than needed. In order to put on a successful VBS for the children, we need more time to plan and order everything. Thank you to everyone who was willing to volunteer this summer. Vincent Joseph Brenner Birth: 01-05-1931 Death: 05-12-2019 Obituary for Vincent Brenner Vincent Brenner passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 at his home in Noblesville, IN. Vince was born in Evansville on January 5, 1931. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He returned to Evansville, where he met and married Carolyn Jean Stricker. Vince spent most of his working life at St. Mary’s Hospital as a locksmith and maintenance man. In his spare time, he built and restored furniture, including altars and communion chalices, Shaker reproductions, and toys for his grandchildren. He was a longtime member and volunteer of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Throughout his life, he served at a number of Evansville churches, including St. Anthony, St. Theresa and Good Shepherd before moving to Indianapolis to live with his daughter Laurie. He was a recipient of Good Shepherd’s Brute Award in 2010. In 2017, Vince and his son Paul went on the Indy Honor Flight #24. His interests included gardening and history. A man of many talents, he baked wedding cakes, played Santa, and could rock a chicken to sleep. He loved getting dressed up to go out to eat but was equally as content with a peanut butter and honey sandwich or rice sprinkled with sugar and a bit of cream. Vince is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carolyn (Stricker) Brenner; children Lisa (Dave) Dettman, John (Carla) Brenner, Julie (Mark) Stewart, Paul (Carly) Brenner and Laurie (Darryl) Wells; eighteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sister Trudie (Ron) Meyer, brother Lawrence (Linda) Brenner and sister-in-law Jerry Brenner, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Vince was preceded in death by his parents, son James, and siblings Herman Brenner, Agnes Heavrin, Joseph Brenner and Francis Brenner. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 pm, Friday, May 17, 2019, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 South Hebron Ave. Visitation will continue from 9:00 until 10:00 am, Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2301 North Stockwell Road. Donald Ray Farnsley, 65, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Don was born in Evansville, Indiana on May 22, 1953 to Maurice "Curley" and Joyce (Cannon) Farnsley. He was a 1971 graduate of Central High School and attended University of Evansville. Alongside his mother and father, he owned and operated Curley's Auto Body Repair Inc. since 1973 and was a faithful member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Don enjoyed golfing and watching University of Evansville basketball and the New York Yankees. He loved playing card games with his family and friends and especially enjoyed a competitive UNO game. Don is survived by his wife of 40 years, Celeste Jane (Croce) Farnsley; daughter, Maria Farnsley (A.J.); mother, Joyce (Cannon) Farnsley; sister, Terri Cochran (Paul), all of Evansville, IN; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Don was preceded in death by his father, Maurice "Curley" Farnsley; sister, Rosemary Ann Sapp; and by his brother, Kenny Farnsley. Good shepherd bell choir in action. How great thou art!
Do you hear what I hear? How about the musical offerings of the Joyful Praise, Good Shepherd’s Bell Choir during their concert last night at Good Samaritan.
Our preschool stopped by the Parish office today to sing for the staff and volunteers who were present. May the pure joy of Christmas be in our hearts, as it is with these young children. Come Lord Jesus, Come.
